WAPPINGERS DECLINE: Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) protestors demonstrated outside three Hudson Valley McDonald’s locations on Saturday, criticizing the corporate company’s contract with its Israeli franchisee. BDS describes itself as a Palestinian-led movement for freedom, justice, and equality.

In a statement, the Palestinian BDS National Committee called on all those who support Palestinian rights to intensify the worldwide boycott of McDonald’s until the company: Cease its franchise agreement with its Israeli partner due to its endorsement of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide committed by Israel.

Protests were organized by BDS members at three McDonald’s restaurants in the Hudson Valley: on Albany Avenue in Kingston, Main Street in New Paltz, and Route 9 in Wappingers Falls. The demonstrations were supposed to last from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. for an hour.

Less than a dozen protestors were visible at the Wappingers Falls McDonald’s. They were waiting online for customers at the drive-thru and were dressed in red, green, black, and white.
