Kingston signs sister city agreement with Sokyryany, Ukraine

Mayor of Kingston, Steven Noble, and Mayor of the City of Sokyryany, Ukraine, Vasyl Kozak, have inked a sister city relationship agreement.

By signing the agreement, the two cities committed to fostering beneficial exchanges that will advance their own cultures, societies, and economies and to doing everything in their power as partners to advance world peace and understanding.

Thus far, Sokyryany has lost 97 fatalities in the conflict against Russia, with 1,700 of its residents engaged in combat.

According to Noble, the City of Kingston is prepared to help and stand with Sokyryany as it recovers from the war and pursues its future goals.

The two mayors met via Zoom last week, facilitated by translators.
