ALBANY The Orange County Chamber of Commerce’s president and CEO, Heather Bell-Meyer, has been appointed chair of the Chamber Alliance of New York State (CANYS).
It is a great honor for me to serve in this role for CANYS and to share my passion for business, economic growth, and lobbying on behalf of colleagues around the state. Bell-Meyer stated. The communities we serve depend on the efforts of chambers of commerce to survive, prosper, and innovate. Our actions matter, and I’m excited to combine my passion with CANYS to support the organization’s expansion and, eventually, improve the state of corporate representation in New York.
Bell-Meyer has over ten years of expertise in the Hudson Valley working with chambers of business, advocacy, and economic development projects. Since 2008, she has occupied leadership roles at the YMCA, Heineken USA, and her own prosperous little company. Bell-Meyer spends a significant amount of her time supporting the people in her county and is a fervent supporter of the larger business community.
The Business Council of New York State, the Orange County Workforce Development Board, the Orange County Economic Development Task Force, the United Way of Dutchess and Orange Regions, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Orange County Association of Towns, Villages and Cities, and the Association of Towns of the State of New York are just a few of the organizations in which she regularly participates.
According to Peter Aust, Executive Director of CANYS, “I’m really happy that Heather will be our Chair to support the work of CANYS in offering professional development, priceless resources, and critical advocacy strategies to our chambers of commerce throughout New York State.” With her vast expertise and contagious enthusiasm for chambers of business, I have no doubt that Heather will lead our group to further growth.
The Chamber Alliance of NYS is an association of chambers of commerce committed to offering its members a forum for networking and cooperation with colleagues across the state, as well as education and insight into current issues and trends affecting our chambers, member companies, and communities.
