Three-vehicle crash claims Poughkeepsie woman’s life

NEWBURGH TOWN A Poughkeepsie lady lost her life in a three-vehicle incident in the Town of Newburgh on Wednesday at 9:40 a.m., according to the police. The crash happened close to the intersection of Route 300 and Union Avenue Extension.

According to Town Police, a 2019 Ford box truck piloted by Luis Cintron, 49, of Philadelphia was traveling north on Route 300 when it entered the southbound lane and collided with a 2019 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Michael Gessner, 37, of Wallkill.

Following the collision between the Ford and Ram, the Ford proceeded northward in the southbound lane and collided with a 2016 Ford Edge being driven by Poughkeepsie resident Tureli Quinci, 68.

According to the police, she was taken to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, where she passed away.

A State Police Accident Reconstruction Team, Central Hudson, and Mobile Life Support Services all provided assistance to the Newburgh Town Police.

While the inquiry is ongoing, no charges have been filed as of yet.
