It’s already November 1, and the holiday season is coming up quickly. It will only be a few weeks until Thanksgiving and then it will be Christmas time. There is a city in South Carolina that is one of the best places to go for the holidays and winter.
WalletHub has put out a list of the top 10 cold places to visit in the winter and the top 10 warm places to visit in the winter. Actually, I like the cold more as I age, so I’m all for that list. It makes sense that most people like to go somewhere warm in the winter.
There are ten places in the United States that are among the best for staying warm in the winter. Still, it’s not unbearably warm in the winter, but it’s pretty warm compared to Chicago!
WalletHub looked at about 70 of the biggest cities in the U.S. and compared them based on cost and ease of access, grouping them by warm and cold weather. Each location was looked at using 37 key metrics, mostly the cost and difficulty of getting there. They also looked at things like the weather predictions, the safety, and the range of activities.
Best Holiday Winter Destinations in South Carolina
If you look at the list of “Best Cold Destinations for Winter Travel,” Atlanta is at the top. This was interesting to me! I thought New York or Chicago would be number one. For a few days, Atlanta is a fun place to visit because there is lots to see and do. It’s also not too far away for people like us who live near Charlotte.
If you want to go somewhere warm in the winter, Las Vegas, Nevada is the best place to go. Don’t forget that it’s dry heat! LOL! It makes sense to go to Vegas because it has something for everyone. The town has changed over the years to become very family-friendly. There are now many places to eat and things to do.
WalletHub says that the average flight to a famous cold destination costs around $400, so if you want the cheapest vacation, that’s it. On the other hand, the average price of a flight to a famous warm winter spot is just over $500. The prices aren’t that different.
