Massachusetts is one of the best places to live in the country because it has great schools, a long and interesting past, four beautiful seasons, lots of cultural activities, and more. Massachusetts has something for everyone. There are lots of things to do in the bigger towns like Boston, Worcester, and Springfield, and the Berkshires are a great place to relax and unwind.

People who want to buy a home are increasingly interested in living in small towns. Lexington (#2), Milton (#7), and Melrose (#8) are all towns in Massachusetts that were recently ranked in the top 10 best small places in America to live in.

Worst Small City to Live in Massachusetts

Some Massachusetts towns were ranked as some of the best places to live in small cities in the United States. Unfortunately, one town did not make that list. Recently, NewsBreak published a story that looked at the Wall Street Hub study and said that Reading is the worst small city in America to live in. Reading is in Middlesex County, which is 16 miles north of the middle part of Boston.

According to the article, this result was caused by a number of things, such as the town’s high cost of living, lack of affordable housing, limited job prospects, overcrowded schools, and high property taxes. The story also said that Reading got 38 points for being affordable, 20 points for being economically healthy, 206 points for education and health, 586 points for quality of life, and 164 points for safety.

Conclusion

Massachusetts is a top-rated place to live due to its diverse population, great schools, and cultural activities. However, a Wall Street Hub study ranked Reading as the worst small city in America due to high living costs, limited job prospects, overcrowded schools, and high property taxes.
