This is Most Miserable City in North Carolina and South Carolina

When I think of how bad it is to live in North or South Carolina, the heat and humidity come to mind right away. There are, in fact, a lot of other things that make people unhappy. Happiness is the opposite of sadness. And when you think of what makes you happy in a city, you probably think of things like jobs, schools, being able to walk around, the weather, and other things. We can say for sure that you’ll be less happy in a place where those things aren’t great.

You can use Quick Facts from the U.S. Census Bureau and AreaVibes to find the “most miserable” place in each state. They looked at things like the rate of unemployment, the rate of poverty, the rate of crime, and income.

The study says that Rocky Mount is the saddest city in North Carolina. The website states that Rocky Mounts’s population has been going down since 2010, by 6%. Out of the 54,242 people who live there, 22.4% live below the poverty line.
