As of 2023, we have compiled the most dangerous city in the District of Columbia. Why then did I invest time in this? By providing guidance, I hope to assist you in navigating these perilous terrains as you make the decision of which city to call home. I analyzed violent and property crimes in cities with a population of 5,000 or more in order to compile this list. This procedure left 116 cities under consideration.

A man with an extensive criminal history, Maurice Clemmons, entered a coffee establishment where he fatally shot four Lakewood Police Department officers as they readied for their shift. Sergeant Mark Renninger, along with Officers Greg Richards, Tina Griswold, and Owens, were present.
