This City is the Most Rodent-Infested in Entire US Country

Please do not call us “Ratlanta.” Orkin’s yearly list of the 50 cities in the country with the most rodents says that Atlanta is only 14th on the list. Even though the “Pizza Rat” video from a few years ago brought New York some bad fame, it’s not No. 1. As it were, Chicago has been named America’s “rattiest city” for the ninth year in a row.

Los Angeles jumped to No. 2, showing that the Hollywood rat race is still going strong, while New York fell to third. In the City That Never Sleeps, Pizza Rat is king, but his friends who make deep dish pizza in the Second City and the cheese and chardonnay crowd way out west in Tinseltown have usurped him. Also, Atlanta is home to the Pizza Squirrel, which isn’t quite as popular on the Internet.

The Orkin report said, “Cities on the Rattiest Cities List are based on the number of new rodent services, which shows the demand and also shows how hard people and businesses in the top cities have worked to get rid of rodent problems.” “Orkin ranked metro areas based on how many new rodent treatments they did from September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2023.” In this list, both home and business pest control services are included.

Atlanta hasn’t dropped in the rankings since 2022, but things could be worse. Greensboro, N.C., was at the very bottom of the top 50. It took the last spot from Burlington, Vermont, which slid all the way up to 44th place this year.
