Most Stressed City in Georgia

Financial company WalletHub did a study and found that three of the most stressed-out towns in the United States are right here in Georgia. A list of almost 200 U.S. places was made, and three from Georgia were included because of how hard it is to find work and how little sleep people there get. Which towns in Georgia made the list, and where did they come in?

Augusta, not Atlanta, is the most stressed city in Georgia, though Atlanta does make the list. Based on stress at work, stress at home, stress with money, and stress about health and safety, WalletHub ranked Augusta as the 10th most stressed city in the U.S.

Columbus, Georgia, came in at No. 27 on the list of the most stressed cities in the country, just behind Augusta. It scored much lower on the cash stress level but higher on the work, family, and health and safety stresses. Atlanta, Georgia, rang the bell at No. 36 as the most stressed-out city in the state. Atlanta’s top driver was stressed at work, but its total score still showed high levels of stress for money, family, health, and safety.

Augusta rounds out the top ten. These are the 10 most stressed-out places in the U.S.:

  • Cleveland, Ohio
  • Detroit, Mich.
  • Baltimore, Md.
  • Birmingham, Ala.
  • Philadelphia, Penn.
  • Shreveport, La.
  • Memphis, Tenn.
  • Fayetteville, N.C.
  • St. Louis, Mo.
  • Augusta, Ga.
