This California City Has the ‘Most Envied’ Lifestyle in America

LOS ANGELES – It looks like one place in California has the “most envied” way of life in all of America! A national survey by Moving Feedback found that Calabasas had the best suburban living out of the 175 that people wanted to live in.

The study said that Calabasas was the best because it had “idyllic suburban charm and proximity to the bustling entertainment industry.” “Surrounded by the scenic Santa Monica Mountains, residents can revel in the natural beauty of the area, enjoy hiking trails and open spaces,” the poll stated.

It also said that Calabasas is close to Los Angeles, which means that people who live there can easily get to “cultural events, dining experiences, and career opportunities, making Calabasas a desirable place to call home, where the best of both worlds converge.”

The most recent U.S. Census showed that 23,130 people lived in Calabasas. The typical household income is $126,178, which is about the same as incomes in Bel-Air and Hidden Hills, which are nearby.

The city website says that Calabasas is 13.3 square miles and is about 22 miles northwest of Los Angeles’s center area. The wealthy city is also famous in pop culture for being home to many Hollywood stars, such as the Kardashian-Jenner family, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Drake, Jessica Simpson, and more.

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, came in second. Huntington Bay, New York, SouthPark, North Carolina, and Forest Acres, South Carolina made up the rest of the top five. Ten more California suburbs were chosen to have the best lifestyles in the whole country. This is how they were ranked:

  • Beverly Hills (#19)
  • Newport Beach (#20)
  • Irvine (#26)
  • Rancho Palos Verdes (#27)
  • Atherton (#45)
  • La Jolla (#64)
  • Rancho Santa Fe (#67)
  • Hillsborough (#69)
  • Palo Alto (#71)
  • Saratoga (#97)

The study looked at the answers to an online panel poll of 3,000 adults who were chosen based on their age, gender, and where they lived. Then, population data sets were gathered from internal data sources. To make sure the data were correct, a two-step process was used.

When it comes to picking a place to live, the pandemic changed the American dream for sure. Our poll shows that people are becoming more interested in suburbs that offer the peace and room of the country with the ease and excitement of city life. The 175 suburbs that filled out our poll show how Americans’ hopes and dreams have changed since the pandemic. Harrison Gough said, “As we continue to change our work and lifestyle preferences, we expect a steady shift toward these sought-after suburban settings.”
