Stony Point man arrested in 2021 murder

TONY POINT Regarding a homicide that occurred on February 16, 2021, State Police have taken into custody a 36-year-old man from Stony Point.

On that date, at approximately two in the morning, troopers reported seeing a Hyundai Sonata completely destroyed by fire on the Palisades Interstate Parkway close to exit 16 in the Town of Stony Point.

When Ronald Mann of the Btonx was discovered dead inside the vehicle, it was established by the Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Officer that he had been shot, and his death was declared a homicide.

Robert Rodriguez of Stony Point was taken into custody during an investigation by the State Police Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Without being given bail, he was committed to the Rockland County Jail.

New York State Fire, the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, and the police departments from Stony Point, Haverstraw, and Suffern all provided support to the State Police during the investigation.
