Silver Spring Shooting Kills Man, Injures 2; One Arrested

Silver Spring police are investigating what led to a shooting that killed one man and injured two others late Monday night. One individual has been arrested for the shooting but is not considered a suspect at this time.

Just before 11 p.m., Montgomery County Police officers responded to a report of a gunshot in the 14300 block of Fairdale Road. This is in a residential area near Fairland Elementary School.

When they arrived at the site, they discovered that one individual had been shot and was declared dead. Another man who had been shot was discovered outside. His injuries were categorized as non-life threatening by police. He was transferred to the hospital for treatment of unknown-severity injuries.

A short time later, authorities claim a third male, also shot, was discovered. He’s been admitted to the hospital. His present state is unknown.

According to police, one suspect is under arrest in relation to this shooting. At this moment, police have established that this person is not a suspect.

WUSA9 reporters also noticed a Montgomery County Police car with considerable damage at the scene. The cruiser was placed onto a tow truck and removed from the scene. It’s unclear how or if that cruiser is related to the shooting inquiry.

According to police, the investigation is still active and ongoing. Investigators have yet to identify the males involved, including their identities and ages.
