Another recruit for the class of 2024 who went on an official visit to Syracuse football this weekend has changed his mind about going to the Orange. Three-star running back Yasin Willis from New Jersey said on Instagram on Sunday night that he had changed his mind and is now committed to Syracuse.
Early in the evening, Jaylan Hornsby changed his mind about going to Texas A&M and now wants to go to Syracuse. Both of them paid official trips to Syracuse over the weekend. Willis is from Montvale, New Jersey. He is 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds. Two47Sports.com ranks him as the No. 10 player in New Jersey and the No. 37 running back in the country.
Based on the same measure, Willis is the No. 479 player in the country. He is the third-best-ranked recruit in SU’s 2024 class, after tight end Jamie Tremble and Hornsby. Willis also had offers from other schools, such as Michigan, Ole Miss, Penn State, and Rutgers. Since July 29, he had said he would play for Pittsburgh. After adding Willis and Hornsby on Sunday, the class is now ranked No. 49 in the country. December 20 is an early national signing day. There are five players from New Jersey in this class. As of now, only Hornsby and Willis have committed to the team under new head coach Fran Brown.
