Pulaski Pool House nears completion in Poughkeepsie

PUCKHKEEPSIE The long-standing pool house in Pulaski Park in the City of Poughkeepsie was dismantled and replaced with a new, contemporary facility, resulting in the closure of the pool for the 2023 swimming season. The $2.4 million restoration is almost finished, just in time for the swimming season of 2024.

The project was funded in part by the American Rescue Plan Act, according to city authorities.

A men’s and women’s restroom, family restrooms, a lifeguard room, an office welcoming desk, a storage area, and a kitchen will all be included in the new pool house.

Former mayors of Poughkeepsie Rob Rolison and Marc Nelson made the project a top priority. Then-Mayor Nelson stated, “We know how important our public pools are to city residents, and we believe we have found a solid solution while we make long-term improvements at Pulaski” while unveiling the project last year.
