Pleasant Valley man facing several felonies after domestic violence incidents

VISUAL VALLEY Following a string of violent domestic encounters in which the victim suffered serious injuries, a Pleasant Valley man is being charged with multiple felonies. After the State Police, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, and the Town of Poughkeepsie police conducted a combined investigation, Thomas Zemko, 43, turned himself in to state troopers on January 29. He was accompanied by his lawyer.

According to the police investigation, Zemko was involved in a string of violent domestic events where the victim was abused and assaulted, resulting in severe physical injuries.

Zemko faces charges of misdemeanor menacing, felony unlawful imprisonment, five felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon, and four felonies of assault.

After being charged in front of the Town of Pleasant Valley Court, the suspect was placed under arrest and sent to the Dutchess County Jail without posting a $100,000 cash bond, $200,000 bond, or $400,000 partially secure bond.
