Newburgh mayor and city manager have shouting match during council meeting (AUDIO)

NEW BURGH During Thursday night’s city council workshop, Newburgh City Managers Torrance Harvey and Todd Venning got into a furious yelling match.

The matter at hand is defying convention by permitting council members to speak during designated public comment times.

That’s when the two started screaming at each other.

As voices were raised, the two accused one other of breaching convention, and neither of them was willing to back down.

Venning was charged by the mayor for having secret talks with other council members.

Restricting public comment to one hour during council meetings was another possible modification.

Next Monday night, the problems might be on the regular city council agenda.
