Mission of Poughkeepsie Children’s Cabinet continues with new mayor

PUCKHKEEPSIE The newly elected mayor of Poughkeepsie intends to maintain the momentum with the Children’s Cabinet, an initiative involving the city’s school system.

In order to address persistent issues, Mayor Yvonne Flowers stated that she wishes to collaborate with Schools Superintendent Eric Rosser.

In the event that our kids experience housing insecurity, food insecurity, mental health issues, or other challenges that prevent them from concentrating on their education, she said, you will notice that many of our kids begin to drop out as they advance through the school system.

And that’s what Flowers wishes to address.

Together with Rosser, the now-state senator Rob Rolison, a former mayor, the Children’s Cabinet was originally established.
