ALBANY: Assemblyman Brian Maher presented Luke Satriano, the reigning state wrestling champion of New York. In addition to being an honor roll student at Valley Central High School, he is the current three-time Section 9 champion and unbeaten.

Luke won back-to-back state titles in 2023 and 2024, was named an All-American, and placed second in the New York state freestyle competition in 2023. In the more than 60-year history of Valley Central High School, he is just the third wrestler to win two New York state titles.

Luke’s visit to Albany today to get recognition for all of his amazing accomplishments was such a blessing. Maher stated, “He has already had an incredible career, and we wish him luck and well-wishing for his upcoming competitions.”

Luke will soon be competing in Las Vegas for the chance to join the USA World Team and represent the country in international world championships. Luke is now being recruited by numerous elite D1 college schools around the United States. His amazing teammates, coach, and proud parents were with him today.
