Incumbents defeated in Monticello Village election

MONTICELLO: In Tuesday’s election, the entire slate of incumbents seeking reelection in the Village of Monticello was defeated. Two village trustee positions and the mayor’s position were up for election.

Trustees Rochelle Massey upset incumbent Mayor George Nikolados to become the village’s highest official.

The incumbent trustees, Carmen Rue and Michael Banks, were likewise vanquished by TC Hutchins and Janice Davis.

The vote total as of late Tuesday night, informally:

Georg Nikolados, mayor (one vote): 173Massey, Rochelle – 528

Trustee (two votes):Michael Banks, 152Janice Davis, Hutchings, 550TC, 554Carmen Rue: 110
