Huntington County grandma murder suspect arrested in Georgia

The 37-year-old man wanted in the death of his 72-year-old grandmother in Markle, according to Huntington County Sheriff’s Office leaders, is now in jail.

On Tuesday, police said that Anthony Castleman had been detained by US Marshals in Georgia. They said family members had been alerted and that more information would be shared as soon as possible.

Deputies were called to a residence in rural Markle on Nov. 12 for a welfare check on 72-year-old Bernice Eubanks after her relatives reported not hearing from her in several days.

Police claim she was found with many stab wounds and have named her grandson, Anthony Castleman, as a suspect in her death.

Then, on November 21, police announced a $1,000 reward for information leading to Castleman’s arrest.
