Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County announces the appointment of three new board members

WAPPINGERS FALLS—Today, Dutchess County Habitat for Humanity announced the addition of three new board members.

Ed Lamando, Catherine Baer, and Simone Obermaier, the newest board members, have extensive backgrounds in development, construction, and commercial financing, respectively. As a specialist in SBA and commercial financing, Simone Obermaier, Vice President of Pursuit, has facilitated small businesses’ access to the capital they require to succeed. Prior to her retirement, Catherine Baer was Vassar College’s Vice President for Alumnae/I Affairs and Development. During her most fruitful fundraising campaign, she raised $56, million in gifts and donations. The CEO of Thomas Gleason Inc. is Ed Lamando. He is the first person who is not related to the firm’s founder to hold this role, having joined in 1995. He has always volunteered in the community and is a supporter of affordable housing in our area.

The CEO, Maureen Brennan Lashlee, stated that Simone, Catherine, and Ed will provide valuable perspectives. In order to address the urgent and expanding need for affordable house ownership, Habitat Dutchess is prepared to transition its affiliate from a program to a construction development enterprise.
