Governor Holcomb weighs in on Indiana state income tax removal

In 2025, Indiana lawmakers will draft a new state budget. One important component of the next budget could be missing: income tax revenue.

For numerous years, lawmakers have debated repealing the state income tax. However, no legislation to do so has been passed thus far.

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb spoke with News 10 about the planned reform.

He says he can’t support or oppose the deletion until additional research is done.

“I’m just like any other constituent until we see those details.” I have no opinion on it because it isn’t a program.” WTHI was informed by Governor Holcomb.

A state and municipal Tax Review Task Force was constituted earlier this year by legislation. The task team is tasked with analyzing the individual income tax and determining ways to lower or eliminate it.
