RAMAPO A 14-year-old has been taken into custody by the Ramapo Police Investigations Unit for starting a bomb threat incident on September 21, 2023, at Suffern High School.
The report prompted a coordinated reaction from multiple law enforcement authorities, leading to the evacuation of the school.
After a four-month investigation, police arrested the child on Monday, January 15, and charged him with felony false reporting of an incident.
After being processed, the young person was freed until they could appear in Rockland County Family Court.
The Ramapo Police Department received assistance in the investigation from Suffern Police Department officers and members of the FBI Task Force.
During the investigation, the Suffern Central School District also provided assistance.
Due to the suspect’s age, details such as gender and name were kept secret.
