Feral cats spark dispute between business owners in Parksville

Parksville The owners of Cabernet Frank’s and Peter’s Glass, the owner of a nearby business, have been embroiled in a years-long conflict that has escalated into a legal battle that is upsetting the usually peaceful town of Parksville in the Town of Liberty. The long-running conflict started years ago with a disagreement about wild cats.

Joe Peters, the proprietor of Peter’s Glass, has been detained and accused of assault and harassment since the argument started. Peters even spent time behind bars in Sullivan County.

RJ Baker and Wade St. Germain, the proprietors of Cabernet Frank’s, were also detained and accused of disobeying a court order when they shared a picture of their neighbor Peters urinating on social media.

Some community people claimed in a letter to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office that Baker and St. Germain, who are married and business partners, were mistreated by law enforcement because they are gay after their detention.

Eric Chaboty, the undersheriff, refuted the statements.
