PUCKHKEEPSIE After looking into the selling of crack cocaine and other drugs on Main Street between Hamilton and Clinton Streets in Poughkeepsie, the Dutchess County Drug Task Force detained a 47-year-old man there on Wednesday.

Ronald Davis allegedly sold cocaine to undercover task force agents on several occasions.

Numerous complaints about drug sales in the region, day and night, from locals and a city official prompted the task force inquiry.

On May 22, task force investigators detained Davis on Main Street and carried out a search warrant at his home, which led to the discovery of a significant amount of crack cocaine that had been packaged for sale.

In connection with this investigation, Davis is facing several counts, one of which is felony criminal possession of a controlled narcotic with intent to sell. Following his arraignment in City of Poughkeepsie Court, Davis was placed under remand without bond to the Justice and Transition Center.

The Dutchess County Drug Task Force was assisted by the Dutchess County District Attorney s Violent Crime and Dangerous Drug Bureau during this investigation, according to the task force coordinator, Detective Sergeant Adam Harris.
