MONTICELLO A man has been taken into custody by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office for nonpayment of child support over $1,000. Keith Nash, a 31-year-old resident of South Fallsburg, owes a comparable sum for obtaining food stamps to which he is not legally authorized.

Nash was taken into custody by deputies on a Family Court Child Support warrant after he neglected to pay $1,200 in overdue child support, according to Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty. In addition, Nash had a warrant out for his arrest for felony grand theft after obtaining $1,152 in food stamps while being ineligible for the program.

In accordance with New York State Bail Reform regulations, Nash was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and then freed on his own recognizance.

On February 21, the defendant is scheduled to return to court.
