Breeze service from SWF only the beginning, says airport official

Stewart Airport Yil Surehan, director of airport development at New York Stewart International Airport, anticipates that Breeze Airways, which will launch its operation in less than a month, will expand.

On Tuesday, he informed the advisory Stewart Airport Commission that the new airline’s operations might grow.

According to him, they intend to increase frequency in those cities and expand Stewart’s reach into new markets as reservations increase.

On February 15 and February 16, respectively, the airline will start operating twice weekly flights to Orlando and Charleston.

Stewart experienced a sharp fall in domestic passenger traffic after Frontier Airlines left the market in the middle of 2023.

Positively, Play Airlines has had great success with its foreign traffic, having flown slightly under 95,000 passengers in the first 11 months of last year.

Play offers daily flights to Iceland, with connections to multiple destinations in continental Europe.
