MID-HUDSON: Utility companies in the area are getting ready to deploy their emergency response personnel on Tuesday night in order to mitigate any potential damage and bring back any power disruptions that may arise from intense gusts of wind, a lot of rain, and localized inland flooding that could affect the entire region between 7 p.m. on Tuesday and 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to them, there could be a serious risk to electric service from this strong storm because of the high, gusty winds that could cause trees to fall, limbs from trees to fall, and overhead electric lines to interfere with the safe and dependable delivery of electricity.

It is predicted that the storm will produce 1.5–3 inches of rain along with steady winds of 15–30 mph and 40–50 mph gusts.

Tuesday night, customer service representatives, overhead line crews from Orange and Rockland Utilities, tree removal specialists, and the remaining members of the O&R emergency response team will be activated and deployed. Crews providing mutual aid will accompany them.
